Letter from the Amateur President:
Gee, the summer is almost over and the fair is around the corner!!! Congrats to all who placed and survived the world show... It was a fun marathon....Made new friends, 2 and 4 legged!
How about the upcoming futurity?! I have excitement in the pit of my Pinto loving stomach and can not wait to see the new crop of babies that will be there!
Don's forget the September 15 the Fun Show at the Sand Spring RUC, it's $20.00 to play ALL DAY. You can't beat that with a stick!!!!! There will be a class for every event you can think of so come have fun with us/ good ole school fun!
Shine up your horse and drive over for the show at Tulsa this weekend. Invite someone to come and watch and bring your lawn chair. It shouldn't be too hot and the company will be great. Watch for the usual and sometimes "heated" silent bidding on the Royalty and Scholarship tables.
Remember to touch your pinto daily for the Good Lord made them one and all. They are our precious friends and companions that bring joy and color into our lives. I encourage you to take time to stroke their soft coats and take a deep breath and enjoy the moment. Come out this week end and "join up" with your Pinto Family
Respectfully submitted,
Amateur President, Peg Gaines
Dear Pinto fellow enthusiasts!
As I made the annual trek to the World show this year I remembered my first impression of the
event.... people were sharing information , encouraging each other at the gate and genuinely enjoying showing...I was flabbergasted!
I've been to the AQHA Congress and felt the effects of rubbing elbows with the syndicated Stallion owners and' big boy '' trainers and felt way out of my
league. Because I was. But with Pinto anyone who has paid his fees can walk through that gate and compete on equal ground. The judges will look at the plain and
shiny haltered horses alike. What a refreshing and fun show it is... I can't wait to se the costume class and the
versatility class again.
We Oklahomans take the World Show for granted just because it is in our back yard....Some of those people travel 1000's of miles to come here. Just remember one thing they pull their britches on one leg at a time just like we
do!!
So I encourage you to come on out and watch the show and then plan on getting ready for our Fun Show in
September....There's something for every one. Come on, kick the tires, check the oil and fire up the old Ford and come on out to the World Show!
It'll motivate ya to go home and get ol' Jed out of the barn and get ready for the Fair.
And remember , horse hair looks good on any outfit!! Read Proverbs this
week.' let the wise listen and add to their learning'' Pv 1; 5 My prayer for you this month is that you to be wise on all you dealings and with your family this month!!
See you in Tulsa....I invite you to come on out and see the gorgeous horses. There is "powerful medicine'' in a Pinto! I've felt it when I put my hand on the neck of one or walk by and touch a
tail. Come on out and see what I mean!!! And hug your DAD every day this week, just once on Father's Day is not
enough.
