From the President
Hey Folks:
Well it’s time
to trim those bridle paths and slick up those horses,
and again be able to spend quality time with your horse
friends and family……
I’m really excited about this year, we have had lots of
new folks that are interested in becoming a part of our
club, and its all because of the friendly way all
you people treat the new-comers and ones that have come
to observe our shows. We really are a family oriented
club and I appreciate that attitude.
Don’t forget about the Zone Awards. I believe that one
of our members has won a zone award. The name will be
announced after the Convention.
Parents, remember there is a great program for the
kids at the Convention. It will keep them enthused.
Remember keep a child on a horse and his or her
interests will stay on the horse……

The Oklahoma Pinto Horse Association (OPtHA) charter held it’s first horse show in 1959.
The association is a non-profit organization. It’s purpose is to promote and encourage the
general interest and breeding of pinto horses. Also to promote good sportsmanship and good fellowship
among the owners and lovers of pinto horses and to improve the general condition and welfare of all horses.
The rules of the Oklahoma Pinto Horse Association are governed by the national organization, the Pinto
Horse Association of America, Inc. The Pinto Horse Association of America, Inc. was established in 1956 as primarily a color registry. Today the association has grown to offer four conformation types - Stock, Hunter, Pleasure and Saddle. There is also a separate division for ponies and one for the miniatures.
Two color patterns are recognized - Tobiano and Overo, as well as a breeding stock division for animals
who do not have enough white to meet color registry requirements.
The Oklahoma Pinto Horse Association puts out a newsletter every other month, a magazine once a year and has a website.
OPtHA Membership
The Oklahoma Pinto Horse Association continues to grow. We encourage new membership and new ideas that are brought into the club by new members.
The Oklahoma Pinto Horse Association has many pinto shows as well as fun shows that are open to all breeds. There are events and activities throughout the year that promote a family friendly atmosphere and fellowship among the members.
- On-site national registration is available for horses, ponies and miniatures that qualify.
- We have futurity classes that are held at our show in August and at the Tulsa State Fair.
- Exhibitors may also compete for high point and year end awards.
- We have a royalty contest and scholarship programs available for the youth.
- We also offer seminars and have special events for members and non-members alike.
- We are the host club for the Pinto World Show that is held in Tulsa, Oklahoma in
June and the Pinto Congress in November.
