AUGUST 2011 SHOW UPDATE:

The August 27-28th show was a success!! We had lots of PINTO horses and alot of all breed entries as well. The first round of the TRI-COLOR futurity classes were held during this show.

We will have the names of the HIGH POINT & RESERVE HIGH POINT winners soon. As soon as the show secretary has them, we will list them here on the website. The FIVE PINTO DIVISION High Point winners will receive BUCKLES!  Again, OPtHA would like to thank the buckle sponsors: Sherri & Terra LaRue, Ford Farms, Mooney Family & DeAmico Performance Horses. Without the donations, we would not have been able to present such great awards.

Nov Am Pinto, All Breed yth and All Breed adult high point will receive an award. All 8 division Reserve high point winners will also receive awards.

On Saturday night, the YOUTH group sponsored a cookout after the long show day. Taylor Shoemaker provided the group with a super medley of songs played on her fiddle...THANKS TAYLOR! We had many volunteers step up to help bring the grill, cook the burgers and set up the cookout...THANK YOU ALL! Also, thanks to those that came over and joined us by having a hamburger and socializing.

The August show had TWO extra classes: an all breed, all age walk/trot buckle class and a $50 walk/trot horsemanship class! Winners names will be posted here soon.

The Youth silent auction helped raise funds for the youth group. Thanks to all of those that participated.

Pat Walliser and Marsha Elliott set up a most FABULOUS hospitality booth again. It is a success and lots of exhibitors and audience members made themselves at home by getting a drink or a snack. Thanks to Pat for making those wonderful cookies!!! The booth looked fantastic! The club provides this to you, OUR MEMBERS, and hope that you enjoy it!!

The club will also be getting donations on a chance to get a ROPE TRAIL GATE. All of the proceeds will go toward the youth scholarship fund. We hope to raise lots of money with this opportunity, so don't miss out on your chance to win this custom ROPE TRAIL GATE. Tickets can be found at the next show by any board member or youth members should be able to also help you out.

The OK Pinto board has decided to make the 2012 shows a ONE DAY ONLY showbill. This will help the club decrease the costs of the show and increase the funds available for show awards and year end awards. If you would like to provide input on the showbill, the dates, location or provide suggestions, please contact a board member or bring your ideas to the Membership meeting at the August show.

KEEP COOL & KEEP RIDING.......Rod Dunbar, President

YOUTH NOTE: The 2012 Royalty competition may occur in November in conjunction with the General Membership fall meeting. The Age groups are: QUEEN 15-19, PRINCESS 9-14, SWEETHEART 5-8. MARCH SHOW UPDATE:

The March 2011 Show was a COLD ONE!!! But, it proved how dedicated all of our OK pinto horse show participants are, as we had many participants showing in the extreme cold conditions.  Despite the cold, it was a great way to start the 2011 show year. The youth board raised money through freestyle parent stick horse showmanship.

March Show results: 217 entries, 38 Pinto horses, 9 All Breed horses (not including those that showed Pinto also), Over 50 stalls filled. Cold, Cold weather!!

Thank you to everyone who participated. And we all hope to see you at our April 9-10 show!
