Congratulations to our Royalty Contestants for doing their Horse Homework!
The girls took their Equine Knowledge written exam during the world show and did very well.

The Queen/Princess test was a 4 page examination that included Equine general knowledge, anatomy and knowing the names and positions of some of the National and Oklahoma pinto board/committee members. 75 points and 25 bonus points for describing the West Nile disease signs, symptoms and treatments for a total of 100 points were possible.

Our queen contestant Kiera Newby scored a 89%. Princess Contest Kaelyn Grant scored 96 points. Sweetheart Contestant Mary Kate Hilms scored 34 points out of a possible 45 points and her bonus question was to describe the difference between overo and tobiano color patterns. Little Miss OPtHA Johanna Hilms scored 21 points out of a possible 25 points and her bonus question was to write her horse's full registered name, his age and all the classes she shows in.

I am very proud of these girls and I am looking forward to seeing how they do at the August show when they perform their equitation pattern, please plan to stay and show your support after the show Saturday.

Congratulations to John Wyre ~ winner of the Oren Mixer print raffle donated by Ruby Priore and the beautiful quilt donated by Heather Ashley.

This year the Royalty will be raffling off and hand made wood and tooled leather tote that will be personalized with the winner's name of choice. The tote will be filled with supplies for the horse and rider. Watch for the royalty as they will display this at the shows and be selling tickets for $2.00 a piece or 3 for $5.00. Please support your Royalty in raising funds for this years expenses. The drawing will be held at the Awards Banquet.

The deadline for Royalty applications is drawing near - April 1,2007.  If you want to compete just download and mail the application or call Ms. Jackie and she will be glad to answer your questions.

The girls will begin their duties at the November General membership meeting and stallion Auction. They will be selling raffle tickets for a 20x24 Oren Mixer print of the Pinto Breed the tickets will be $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00. Please help support our girls! We will pick the winning ticket at the awards banquet in January.
