It’s unfortunate that our scholarship program started from the loss of one of our members—Tabitha May. She was very active in the club, and I know that she would be proud and pleased that this scholarship lives on in her honor and memory and is going to help so many of our wonderful youth further their education. 

The first recipient of the $500 scholarship award was given in 2002, after the May and Tower Families had donated $5,000 towards the fund, allowing OPtHA to give one $500 scholarship for the next 10 years. The first 3 years only one scholarship was given, but in 2005 enough extra funds were raised, to be able to grant 2 scholarships. We are trying to continue this trend, and with your generous support of the silent auctions and other donations, we will be able to carry these scholarships even farther into the future.

THANKS to ALL of the members who have donated and bought things at the silent auctions. We are REALLY doing a great job in supporting our youth and helping to continue to raise funds to keep our scholarship program going.
