2009-10 Oklahoma Pinto Horse Association Stallion Auction

2009 Stallion Auction Catalog

2009 Oklahoma Pinto Stallion Service Auction General Rules

Notice to Stallion Owners

If you nominated your Stallion in the Stallion Auction.  We have made a few changes in Our Stallion Auction rules for this year due to the economy crunch…We are asking that the Stallion owners think about purchasing their own breeding, which would give them two slots at the Tulsa State Fair in 2010. One for the Breeders and one for the Stallion Owners divisions. We would like to keep our Stallion Auction Going and becoming stronger.

We have opted to extend the time for Stallion Owners to purchase their own until June 1st, 2009.    That way they will know if their mares are in foal.  Remember there is added money to these classes, so it’s a win-win situation……...

All information included in the Stallion Auction Catalog has been provided by the Stallion Owners.  Bidders should verify information, as OPtHA is not responsible for any mis-information.

All contractual agreements are between the Owner and Bidder.  All bids must be received by January 1, 2009.  Bids will be opened during the Awards Banquet meeting, held January 10th, 2009 at the Best Western Airport, I – 244 & Garnett, Tulsa, OK  at 1:00 pm

Bidders must include a separate check for the amount of each bid.  Unsuccessful bids will be returned un-cased.  Any unsold stallion will be available on a first come, first serve basis until February 28, 2009.  All Stallion Owners are urged to purchase any un-sold breeding at their minimum bid, giving the Stallion Owner two free slots – one as the Mare Owner and one as the Stallion Owner.  All Bidders have to declare the Mare bred by January 1, 2010.  If a Stallion Owner purchases his own, he or she must declare that mare also.  Breeding can not be re-sold to anyone else.

Owners of Stallions may bring any spotted foal to compete in the Stallion Owners Section of the Futurity held at the Tulsa State Fair.  A Stallion Owner that brings a Breeding Stock will show in the Breeding Stock class along with the Mare Owners Breeding Stock foals.

There are five weanling Futurity classes, in three divisions, resulting from this auction.  Spotted foals will be divided by sex, solid foals are eligible for the breeding stock class.

Prize money is determined by number of foals attending the Tulsa State Fair, with added money, providing there are three entries per class.

Other Mares that are bred to the stallions whose breeding sell are eligible for the nominated division, which also has added money.  The following are the fees for nominating $100 if nominated by April 1, 2010 - - $150 by May 1, 2010 - - and $200 by June 1, 2010 - - and $250 if after July 1, 2010.

Absolutely no nominations will be accepted after August 1, 2010.

Note:  It is the Foal Owner’s responsibility to enter the Tulsa State Fair and also enter the Corresponding class offered.

All Owners and Handler (if any) must be a member in good standing with Oklahoma Pinto and the National Pinto Association.
